Kylie Tanabe is a licensed Physician Assistant working with Dr. David Kulber, plastic and reconstructive surgeon and hand surgeon specialist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills. She is one of the co-founders of Ohana One and is the current Secretary of the Board of Directors. She took some time to sit down with us and answer some questions about the mission and future of Ohana One.

What aspect of Ohana One are you most proud of?

All of it! I am so proud of everything we have been able to do over these first few years of Ohana One. To see how much we have grown has been an incredible thing. I never thought we would be able to have this much impact on the world in just a few years.

What do you hope to see Ohana One accomplish this year?

I would love to see Ohana One really focus on our mentorship program. I want to understand what our mentee surgeons need and perfect our platform to deliver the best available technology for them. We want to make things as easy as we can for our surgeons.

What special skills or passion do you bring to Ohana One?

I bring enthusiasm and passion! My past experience with global health and medical missions helps me understand first-hand what we need to do and why it is important. I don’t know of any other organization focusing on the physicians and doing training. The physicians will then go on and be able to train others.  It is very exciting to think of the impact we are having.

What do you wish people knew about Ohana One?

I wish more people knew about Ohana One and what we do!  Our focus on the surgeons and their learning and training is everything.  I want the world to learn about the technology and how we are using it. We are here to help the world!
