Surgical outreach trips are critical in developing strong relationships between local and visiting surgical teams as they work in tandem towards achieving long-term skill-training. Ohana One leads trips to Mozambique, Honduras, and other international locations each year, supported in-depth by the smart glass technology program. To further support the surgical outreach trips we perform, we provide smart glass technology to their surgical teams, enhancing the effectiveness of an institutes training resources.

In five days, the team performed 29 surgeries, piloted smart glasses, and partnered with Honduran pediatric surgeons to tackle a backlog of over 400 urology cases.

The Ohana One Journal Club
To further supplement their training, Dr. Pedro Santos leads a monthly surgical journal club with his colleagues in Mozambique and guests observers and participants from Ohana One, ReSurge and other NGO partners.
