Ohana means “family” and we bring everyone into our Ohana to feel supported, inspired and connected.

Board of Directors

David Kulber, MD

Co-Founder | President

Dr. David Kulber, MD, FACS, is a board-certified plastic and hand surgeon at Cedars-Sinai, where he leads multiple surgical programs and serves as a professor at USC’s Keck School of Medicine. His work spans plastic, reconstructive, hand, and aesthetic surgery, with research focused on tissue regeneration and advanced surgical techniques. As co-founder of Ohana One, he provides care to underserved children worldwide and trains local surgeons. In 2023, he received the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Kulber also examines for the American Board of Plastic Surgery and trained at top institutions including Cedars-Sinai and Memorial Sloan Kettering.

Kylie Tanabe, PA-C

Kylie continues her love for bringing access to surgical care throughout the world with Ohana One.

After graduating from Wagner College’s five year BS/MS Physician Assistant program, Kylie knew that surgery would be the natural next step for her. She entered the Norwalk/Yale Surgical Residency Program for PA’s, where she would then combine her love and passion for surgery and traveling. Kylie is a Physician Assistant at Cedars-Sinai Medical Network, in the Beverly Hills Hands Surgery Department.

David Kulber, MD

Co-Founder, Ohana One President

Dr. David Kulber, MD, FACS, is a board-certified plastic and hand surgeon with a comprehensive practice in plastic, reconstructive, hand, and aesthetic surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He holds multiple leadership roles, including Director of Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery and the Plastic Surgery Center, and is a full professor at USC’s Keck School of Medicine and Cedars-Sinai. Recognized for his research in stem cell-based tissue regeneration and advanced surgical techniques, he has received numerous grants and presented internationally. As co-founder of Ohana One, he leads global efforts to provide high-quality surgical care to underserved children, earning the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023. Dr. Kulber also serves as a board examiner and holds degrees and advanced training from top institutions including Cedars-Sinai, Cornell, and Memorial Sloan Kettering.
